Hi, badger1000,

It cured itself after a while.

I left it overnight, with the unit switched on and the TV off, to go through these bizarre rebooting cycles and, when I looked in the morning it had sorted itself out.

I would guess the program that runs it gets ...
I have always been under the impression that the Wales v Italy game would be the traditional 40 minutes each way, but my TVonics Library tells me that, in fact, it consisted of 144 periods of play, all lasting 0 minutes each!

Let me explain.

There is an automatic check for
I have a TVonics DTR Z500 Freeview digibox, although that might be irrelevant.

I turned it on tonight from standby and it said that it was "... starting up, please wait".

All well and good so far and nothing unusual there.

However, after booting and ...
It does. Glad I'm not alone.

And extension plugs/trailing sockets can be very dangerous when the disabled, infirm or children are around.
Thanks, but that still doesn't answer the question as to why there's been this change, it seems utterly pointless to me and would appear to be change for changes sake.

if there is a valid reason, then fair enough - I'm no Luddite resisting all change regardless. But what could it ...
It's personal circumstances.

The two bedside sockets are up against the shelf above. My previous bedside radio plug fitted, the new one has the lead coming out of the "top" so no longer fits.

I have an electricity monitor which, as it has the lead coming out of ...

Electrical device > mains cable > pre-fitted three pin ring main plug.

When plugs were fitted manually (before the Effin Safety Loonies decided we were all incapable of wiring upo a plug) the cable tended to go into the bottom of ...
Apart, obviously, from just being done to seriously annoy and inconvenience me, is there any logical reason why so many fitted plugs (on chargers, telephone base stations, routers, radios, etc) now have the cord coming out of the top of the unit - top, that is, when plugged into a normal three pin ...
Yes, I am.
Mine's arrived too. :)
Thanks, JonEp, but no thanks. I already know.

And no, I don't live anywhere near there! :(
By jove I've got it, I think I've got it!

I've recently installed a Flash blocker called ClicktoFlash .... because a regularly visited site is now so Flash heavy with adverts that it irritated the hell out of me.

CtoF appears to be doing its job on ...
Old Kiln Lane, Saddleworth

I'll not give the precise number so either look for the address as I name it or make up a number yourselves.

Having looked again, it is behaving slightly differently.

At first, the Orange man is grey but after a few seconds becomes ...
I'm trying to find the on-line source of the "Doctor's version" of the normal Patient Information Leaflets put into prescription medicine boxes.

If I recall, they are more comprehensive than the PILs given to the punters but perhaps not as comprehensive as the excellent ...
Could be, but it's the whole street that behaves that way.

Thanks anyway.
I've been trying to look at an address on Google Street View.

When I go to that location, the Orange Man appears at the top of the zoom slider as expected. I can drag the man to the relevant place on the map and the pointer disk appears on the street, which indicates that it has been ...
An electronic epistle received by my goodself this very morrow ...
