well I've only done one myself and just ended up buying off ebay, obviously scrutanise their feedback though.

cost can come down to weather you want just the laser or the full deck assembly.. given my lack of experience I just bought the full deck rather than having to go the extra hog

try searching youtube, pretty sure there will be a video of how it's done - better to judge for yourself weather you think your up to the task

@ matthew, viasat is the *only* satellite provider showing *all* premiere league games.. now admittently I don't know what's where appart from viasat as I leave all the 'nitty gritty' down to a pal of mine.. you can check a few days before each match on liveonsat.com and that site will tell you ...

the pl channels will be black - until there's a game on..



viasat is in year 2 of a 3 year deal for english premiere leauge (iirc) - that's the best choice right now.. I know a few people who use it

^ technically true, but with multi-room subscription sly usually make sure both subscriptions are being used at the same property by 'checking' boxes via the phone line.. aka 'phone home' ..according to the contract if they decide there is an anomaly [ie.. they can't 'test' it via the phone line] ...

if it's reasonably priced I would too.. my box has only ever been updated once in it's lifetime of about 3-4 years.. it is in need of an update and this may be it.. problem solved and alot more features as a result..

I wouldn't say useless, 3 of the points you mentioned are irrelevant (live/dash/blocked) as it becoming more and more common ( and I believe in the future will become a rule ) .. if you want to play backups you shouldn't be going online/ [officially] updating anyways..
