Your right it does seeem more stable, just done 40mile round trip & GPS worked fine & managed to update Facebook whilst on a farm in the middle of god knows where!

Can't get it to boot anything by holding down the reset on power on (if that is right?) so I don't think it is installed.

It has read my SD card fine & let me install using the channel menu by loading .dol file.
I now have the homebrew channel back & it let me install dvdx & bootmii as boot2.
Hopefully this will make things easier, but where to go from ...

Yeah, I have done this once before when I put the original loader on, someone just deleted it, sorry I should have been more clear on that.
