When you say went to start it do you mean from backup manager? It is supposed to go back to xmb. Then you go up to the disc icon (or apps-ps3game or something depending on version of backup manager) and it should be the game you tried. Start from there and enjoy!

Need to look at other options, as I can see my PS3, breaking the world record for speed out of a window.
