I had this problem with ratchet and clank - altering the free space by 500mb (+ or -) fixed it ... I downloaded a Demo.
I previously had a PS3 Slim and sold it, just bought an 80GB Fat PS3 recently as I'll be off for a few weeks over Xmas - I loved Uncharted 1 & 2 and looking forward now to the 3rd.

Is it possible to sign in without a HDD? Signs look good, but if it's banned I'd rather fix and punt for a few quid more than I paid.
If it works after fixing the new screws on, I'll pick up a HDD and controller.
I registered it online, requested a repair - it said it'll be chargable and got all the way to the end. (Screenshot below)
Does it stand a good chance of working online? My sub is still active.

I picked up a faulty console last night without a HDD and Controller for £10. When powered on it's got 3 red lights, I bought the kit on eBay for 99p as that fixed my other one.
