He'll be completing wasting his time with this venture. Tell him to concentrate on more niche products. As miffy says anything to do with insurance, financial services etc. is one of the most competitive sectors online and he'll have no chance of making any money.

As regards apps, Android will be much bigger than iOS. It's already outstripping sales of iOS devices and that gap is only going to get wider. So, while Android Market has some catching up to do, it'll eclipse Apple's App store soon enough.
