I use a pixma 5000 & the cd-label software that comes with it (cd-label print) if thats what you use then it will work fine to cover the entire face of the cd, just go into FILE/SELECT PAPER/NEW and add in your cd size then save & use that template.

are you talking about the software that comes with the printer called "cd labelprint"

if so just go into the (cdlabelprint software) file menu/select paper then press the new button , then you may create a new size/template ...

I have rebooted the server there are 3 in there at them moment getting stuff so give it a try now

Did you maybe accidently put the hdd/dvdrom cable the wrong way round?

For Hdd red stripe on the ribbon cable goes to the side the power connector is on , but the dvdrom the red stripe on hte ribbon goes to the OPPOSITE SIDE of the power connector.

Just a thought. ...
