Sky multiroom question

Apparently I have to pay ?200 to get another HD box for my bedroom upstairs as well as paying ?10 a month.
What a rip off, Is there anyway I can get a box from somewhere without paying the ?200? When my wire the other lead into a box upstairs? Or will they know or something?

So you want to watch different channels, both on sky in two rooms? If you just want to view sky in two rooms but limited to a single channel you can get the eye thing which enables you to control the Sky box from another room.

There are usually quite a lot of HD boxes going on AVForums mate, think they normally go for around 50 quid, might be worth looking into?

I've got the Eye thing but not HD. Just through the RF cable. Put a 32" Bravia in our room so just want better quality. For some strange reason the Eye has buggered up a bit. Can still watch whats on downstairs but cant change channel upstairs

It'll be ?20.50 a month. ?10.25 for multiroom plus ?10.25 for having HD

For Sky to charge you ?200 for a HD box then I presume you already have one in the house.

I would just purchase one 2nd hand get someone in to install it and call Sky for a new card.
