thats only if you happen to switch it off though, Ive had mine jailbroke on 4.2.1 since the day it came out and have not had to switch off yet, hwoever when I first set up all my stuff with cydia I had to do a couple of forced reboots and I really dont see what all the fuss is about it takes about 12 seconds to boot it tethered. Sure its no good if your on the go all the time with it but luckily for me its just a toy not a neccesity. The jailbreak capabilities far out way the hassle of the tethered bollocks. I believe the untethered will be out anytime soon anyway.

Just worried if my lad would cope if it got switched off as he is only 7. Do you need any computer to boot it or does it need to be running a program?

Have downloaded tinyumbrella, connected ipad, put in recovery and started tinyumbrella but it says cannot start tss service system(pid:4) must be killed? What does that mean!

you need a mac, Redsn0w 0.9.7b5, the 4.2.1 and 4.2b3 firmware for your device and you need to have been jailbroken in the past (but not necessarily at the moment)
