Virgin in Another Room

chesser 12.01.2011, 21:43
Hi All,

Anyone shed any light on this one, brother in law just took delivery of a shiny new V+ Samsung box, his old Virgin box had RF out and he used to pipe it into his telly int he kitchen the new boxes have feck all outputs, basically how can he if at all get the picture onto another telly, I thought about video sender through scart? but how would that work if he's using HDMI as I remember with older V+ boxes that had RF out if you were using HDMI you couldn't watch it in another room?

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chesser

Does it have SCART?

SCART - composite Video (yellow cable) adapter and run cable to the other telly providing it has video in.
You will need red/White audio cable too, you can get a single cable with all three connections.

You will have to make sure that the V+ has the video out pins enabled on SCART too.

If i remember correct if using HDMI the scarts were disabled, but lots of people made a stink about it because they couldnt then record to a VHS or dvd recorder, so VM now leave the VHS scart socket on their boxes enabled.
its been a while so might have changed

You can buy a modulator that will connect to the scart , iv used them a few times in pubs.

Plug.
