Bought a Phat PSP the other day and it seemed to be working fine, read a couple of UMD's I had. I sold it in my shop and today they've brought it back saying its not reading any UMD at all.
Just tried it and it's not even trying to spin or anything.
Any idea's? I don't know much about them but software version is 5.50 Gen-D3. And it has been flashed I think as it has an emulator on the mem card and has a menu about Pandora battery etc.
It has custom firmware installed, it's designed to load games from a MSduo card. Probably the fact that it wasn't reading UMD's led to the custom firmware being installed.
forced / broken catch i have seen a few times

Thanks for the reply lads. Tronads, It did make me wonder, I stupidly didn't write the serial down, but I remember a couple of marks that are still there. Although I do think they may have dropped it.
Shovelthumb, it was reading UMD's when I bought it though. Granted I did only try a few, but now it's not reading a single thing.
Mobileman, any easy way of fixing? I've had a look on the net, and the catch that the UMD pushes down at the bottom of the drive is there and it clicks in when I press it down with a screwdriver. Is that the one you mean?
