I have tried to access btopenzone lately but with no joy, ive filled in the form to reset it but cant connect still. any ideas. i have had it working in the past and seem to remember registering my 02 number on a site somewhere but cant find it anywhere. some posts say you put 02 as your provider on the log on screen but i dont get that option. any ideas cheers

Do you have a BT Broadband account activated for Fon/Openzone sharing? Or do you have a Fon/Openzone account you pay for? I think the free O2 Wi-Fi is supplied by the Cloud and not BT, you get it in Wetherspoons IIRC.

The options for Openzone:
BT Total broadband
BT Openzone
BTFON

If you have BT Broadband and you allow your homehub to act as a Fon/Openzone access point then you just select Total Broadband and enter your btinternet email address and password.

I seem to remember that you cannot necessarily connect to all BTOpenzone's.

I don't have a BT account, but I am with O2. I too have difficulty in connecting to SOME Openzone's.

IIRC, the it depends on the type of Openzone (they are not all set-up the same). Not much help I know, but I just had to accept that I could connect to some, but not others.

Unfortunately there are two different types of BT Openzone but they both have the same SSID :(

Commercial/Business BT Openzone works with the O2 packages however if you are trying to connect to a private BT Openzone (Which BT users get added to their Homehub if they opt in the BTFon scheme) it will not work.

The is why in pubs and around town it will register and work correctly but if you are in the middle of a housing estate it will most likely not.

I live in flats and have a similar problem so I usually just leave wifi off unless I need it.

Can you not just go into settings and 'forget' network?

I use the BT Fon app which seems ok.

I had some issues yesterday. I have BT Internet and opted into Fon that allows free Openzone.
I found an Openzone hotspot yesterday and it didn't appear to connect. However after a few mins I was on.

All you do on the iPhone then is open Safari, use your login (you will get re-directed to Openzone site) and your in :)

Not sure why they tell you to open the Fon app? This didn't appear to do what it was supposed to do.

the Fon app is not live for the ipad yet also :(

The Fon app works perfectly for me. Have you updated to the newer version?

Yeah. I think it's the phone sometimes in an area where it is on the edge of an Openzone...

I have aan o2 business mobile tariff and suppose to have access to BT openzone hotspots,
on trying to connect and failing i rang my business support to be told that there are limited hotspots that i can connect to, i felt ripped off to be honest, because when you sign up you are lead to believe you can connect to these hotspots, not just a selected few.. buggers!!!arf
