Gran Turismo 5 - First impressions

Plays fine for me offline, but when I try and play online it locks up and i have to hard reset the ps3.

Been working fine for last hour or so what an amazing game

Just had about 10 races online 6 of my mates on - fucking quality

I dunno. If this is capacity problems then I'd hate to see what would happen if my local Game store had sold the 100+ copies that they still haven't been able to sell - and that's just one store 24 hours after launch. Went to a Gamestation, Game and CEX today and all of them told me they had massively undersold on what they were expecting. So if it's capacity that's causing this Sony need their ass kicked.

I still can't wait to play GT5 tho :P I bought my PS3 for two reasons - Bluray films and GT5 (in that order). Must...hold...out. I don't want to play it with the joypad and am waiting for my wheel to arrive lol.

Not interesting in online on my PS3. I pay for XBL and in my opinion (let's leave it here - it's MY opinion) it's a much better experience for me than PSN.

in truth i've only played online about 9 or 10 times on the ps3, mario kart on the other hand I cant remember not playing online

Just tried online again, locked up, unplug ps3. I think you've been very lucky prezzy. Off to bed now.

I just managed to get into a good room, had about 12 races, was able to choose tracks myself etc.
Online, this is MUCH better than I expected, it's very technical and you have to concentrate as every movement makes a difference.

I did also have a race with a twat who thought he was playing Destruction Derby - not half as enjoyable, but in both games I had no lag at all.

First impression: takes ages to install

I had at least 10 people on my friends list playing this game. Jamie and Prezzy were on it all night.. so must be ok for a few people

I actually got to play an online game this morning!!!! The downside was that after joining the game and choosing free run as selecting start race was not happening for some reason. Anyway, after a few minutes it said I was the room owner so I pressed the start button to select start only to get an error beep, ok I thought, maybe it's not ready to start so carried on with free run, after a couple of laps I tried start race again, nothing, did some more laps then tried again, nothing. After 34 minutes I was bored so selected quit/leave or whatever it is....it wouldn't let me!!! Some people were asking in the chat box how to leave, it seemed quite obvious that the only way was to quit the game completely after trying numerous times to leave without success.

Not sure if this is another bug or what but it's really not going very well so far. As each our of the day goes by I am getting closer to flogging my copy of GT5 and taking the PS3 back to Sainsburys for a refund.

Had a little play last night but not online. Anyone tried it with 3d telly yet?

I agree. "GT5 The Real Driving Simulator" just doesn't work somehow when compared to Forza 3.

Anyone tried it with the PS3 Eye Camera yet for the Head Tracking? And also in 3D?
