R4i Problem

Hi,
my lads R4i on DSi XL has stopped working.Been working fine for some months. Checked on PC and all the files are renamed, in fact just one folder there. So I formatted and reinstalled FW. Now it wont load at all, it freezes half way on loading the R4 menu screen, just get the top corner with graphics on, then it hangs.
Nothing was installed to cause this, just suddenly stopped.
Any ideas or is it time for a new one?

Which R4i is it? Red box one with website www.r4i-sdhc.com ? Which firmware are you trying. And has his DSi XL been updated to the latest firmware 1.4.1 (won't work if it has)?

Its the black one with the V1.4 in yellow 'flash' on it.
Using R4i v1.27b FW on the card

Dsi is running Ver 1.4E

Has the firmware on the dsi been updated?? If so try the latest 1.28 kernel for the card maybe?

Try some older firmware, 1.25, also there is a newer one out 1.28 try that. im sure i had a problem with 1.27 on the older 1.4 r4i's. It worked fine on the new 1.4.1 r4i's.

That wont work, he needs a new 1.4.1 card if thats happened

1.28 works great

Not sure what caused 1.27 to go belly up, but its all good now (for the moment anyhow)

Note sure if Pokemon white (J) with translation files fooked it
