russbeer 06.11.2010, 23:13 Mameui is based on the normal mame code with a front end bolted on. It will not magically fix none running roms.
I never thought it would "fix" them, its just that the ones Ganty emailed me he said he'd tested them as working in mameUI, my problem now is that they ain't showing in the program? Yes because he has 8000 roms other in his folder... again I doubt very much that if they won't work in mame Dos, they will suddenly work in MameUI (even with them showing up). You problem is definately due to missing rom files, not the program used to run them. russbeer 07.11.2010, 00:57 so with about 8 other versions of a game i should be ok? You could have 600 versions of the same game, but if you are missing files, it ain't gonna work!
If you list the roms names you are trying to run an the files it says it is missing, then I may be able to assist, else we are going around in circles! tronads 07.11.2010, 01:44 Wolfmame has a rom audit facility, does the frontend you are running not have anything similar ? russbeer 07.11.2010, 08:30 Not that I'm aware of, the only thing I get is a red square with something about missing CHD files or something llike that?
The games I want to work at the moment are Chase HQ, Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, Die Hard Arcade and one other that escapes me at the mo (on the laptop not the pc)
I don't and haven't used DOS for about 5 years so wouldn't even remember how to use it in DOS form MsDG. Eddie_M 07.11.2010, 08:55 I used to love MOON CRESTA (1980) and I don't think it has been mentioned in previous posts I used to spend loads on that dam game when I was little Not that I'm aware of, the only thing I get is a red square with something about missing CHD files or something llike that?

Mame dos is really complicated to use becuase you have to do 4 things in a row!
You have to type the word "mame" followed by a space and then followed by the Rom name... and then after all that you have to hit enter! russbeer 07.11.2010, 09:27 I'll make do without them then. Can't be arsed with fannying around with missing files, I want click and play. russbeer 08.11.2010, 06:27 What kind of fuss and fidget do you have to go through to get the sega ones like Daytona USA working? What kind of fuss and fidget do you have to go through to get the sega ones like Daytona USA working? Russ, have a look here: .... .... Most mame roms consist of parents and clones. To get clones working you need the parent too. It's a bit of hassle if you just want to play the odd game...that's why I keep the full bastard set, all 228GB of it! W.
