command and conquer type games???

as title, i just bought myself a hp envy i7 laptop with 1gb gfx card, so hoping to play some games on it when i am offshore at work. the only type of games i like are like COD but i play that on ps3. on pc, i loved command and conquer/generals etc. can anyone recommend any games like that for pc now? i have bought (but havent played any of these yet) starcraft 2, command and conquer (everyone says 4 is crap?) and warcraft 3. any recommendations please chaps?

i got spellforce 2, shadow wars with summat a purchased a few years ago and cannot stand rts type games so its all yours if you want it.

just discs in paper sleeves with CDKeys printed on them but new and original all the same, someone on here is bound to have played them and may tell you what they are like.

Supreme Commander 1 and 2, the Total War series, Ruse, Total Annihilation (still plays well), Age of Empires series.

If you want a real time sink, Puzzle Quest 2 is ridiculous. It's basically a match 3 type game with RPG elements, and is stupidly addictive.

AAARRRGGGHHHHHH... totally wrong place to ask this, but hopefully one of you guys is in the know.. i am buying loads of games on cd/dvd for my new laptop, will i still need the discs to play the games after i have installed? the reason i ask is that my machine doesnt have internal cd/dvd and i dont want to cart an external and also discs about with me when i take it to work. can i 'mount' them or something? or will i have to look for no-cd cracks? they will all be original bought games by the way and i wont be playing online when at work...

You could make an image of the physical disc and mount them in a virtual drive, but it'd be much quicker and easier to get a no cd crack.
You won't get games nowadays that'll allow you to play without a disc without taking matters into your own hands.

not nothered how long it takes gantmeister, just dont wanna cart my shitty ole external around with me as the laptop i got is a bit of a bruiser and bigger than i wanted anyway... i'll look into that rather than get pwn3d off some bullshit no-cd crack of a dodgy site!!!

Couple of sites I use to allow playing of my legally owned games without the cd

Just be sure to do "Full Install"'s if it ever lets you choose, patch the games before you leave and get the correct no-cd for that version of the game and you'll be sorted
edit: Just install the games to the laptop and use the no-cd, no need to take disks or store images on the external hd, all you use is pretty much the space the game takes once installed.
