I thought I would enter the pre-flight details on the BA booking website this morning only to check my passport and notice it expired LAST MONTH. We fly on Monday morning. ARRRGGGGGG!:insanityShit.

I called the passport office and I am lucky enough to get a cancellation appointment for the fast track passport scheme tomorrow at 8:45am. I have to travel in to central London and pay ?129.00 but Phew, close call!

Had I not checked my passport today I would of been completely screwed.

Lucky you can get yourself down to the city to pick one up otherwise you'd be enjoying your holiday at home!

I was the same where I didn't know about the pre-flight details bit but my passport is OK date wise but still could of got refused to fly.

last time I booked a holiday the travel agents wouldn't issue the tickets until they had physically seen our passports was a bit of a pain in the arse but she explained that was the reason why - its happening more and more often now and of course the customers blame everyone except themselves when they lose there flights cos of there own oversight.

On a side note the girl in the travel agents had cracking norks.

I thought it was pretty standard knowledge nowadays that you needed a passport valid for at least six months after you return from most places??

obviously not everyone knows though especially those who dont go abroad every year a lot of folk still think that babies and toddlers can travel on their mothers passport - which they did used to be able to do but its a no go now also - even a newborn child has to have a passport with photo

I had that some years ago, went abroad with my son when he was about 16 months old, his passport was to last 5 years.. How the hell does that work? A baby won't really look much the same at 5 would they.
