fan not spinning

braymond 03.10.2002 19:33
hi folks
a friends ps2 fan has stopped spinning
tried fan out of my ps2, still not spinning
i'm guessing its a 5V dc fan, doesnt appear to be any voltage getting to it
anybody no if theres a surface mount fuse specifically for the fan?
the rest of the ps2 works great, till it overheats and shuts down!
any help greatly appreciated
two children without ps2!!!
thnx

typical problem dude , you've just blown a fuse of your PS2 mobo , the fan fuse to be precise !
the correct fuse is the one near the fan plug on the mobo , with S7 write nearby and 205 on it ( on my V5 , at least ) .
test it with a multimeter , and it'll certainly show no resistance !
ask raptor @ playstationmods.com if he has any left , it'll be certainly the best thing to do : replace this fuse .. you can always rewire the fan to a 5V power source , but i heard it was quite unsecure to do this , at it'll end up with a fried fan sooner or later !
