Just followed the guide step by step and got my wii nice and updated.

Using the backup launcher, neogammar, I can load the new mario bros., wii fit plus and all my old bits but can't get wii sports resort to boot, just goes black for a few secs then back to the home menu.

Is there something that needs to be done with that particular game?

I'm running 4.2 and followed all steps in the guide. I don't have motion plus control connected but surely the game would still boot?

I've not got my USB loader set up yet so not tested that ave.

Any ideas?

Hi spennyboy,

I believe that your need to select the alt .dol file before loading (it should be on the disc) this will make you watch the wii motion plus video, then after that select the normal / default .alt file and the game should work. You only have to watch the video the once.

Yeah thats it mate, literally just done it and came here to post the fix lol.

You need to go into config options and set alt.dol to YES then boot the disc and change the main.dol to player.dol.

All working

Hi there my wii has firmware 4.2 and when i run HackMii it tells me that Bootmii: can only be install as an iosand under that it says. the installed boot1 version prevents a boo2 install (-2)

what can i do or cant this be soft modded.

Yes you can softmod the Wii, it's just that you won't be able to install BootMii as Boot2.
Which basically means you don't have the safety net that BootMii as Boot2 offers (ie, brick recovery)
To get round this you can install another app (Priiloader) that provides protection, just not as much.

Ok i have been very carefull install what i should but when i get to section 2 i get down to where you load ios wad from sd card and the i get
Exceptio (DSI) occurred! followed by loads of code then Stack dump: then code dump ..
Where am i going wrong!

DSI errors are quite common and 99% of the time just require you to power down the wii and try again.

Thanks renke i think i have done it but no way of testing yet it has added a media channel and a boot from dvd-r channel
and usb channel.
I dont supose there is anyway of knowing it will work until i sort out a usb drive and get my head round that bit next.

I Done it its all working of an old 30gb 2.5 hard drive now to buy an enclosure for my 500gb one...
