Just thought id add to this - If you want to rip movies and videos to mp4 format i found ImTOO PSP Video Converter easy to use , you need a serial for it thought but that can be found easily. Really fast and rips in great quality.

my psp is version 2.6 n ive got no idea what im doin with it. i could really do with a helping hand telling me what i need to do to rip games to it. any help is greatly apreciated.

devhook 0.46 do a google search and you'll find it... try and get the all in one package though....

hey again i gots me a problem with puttin mp3s on mi psp.... welll a number of problems.
firstly i have to drag and drop them 1 at a time when transfering them from my pc via usb.
secondly when they are on the psp and have been played once it says the file is corrupted.
can any1 enlighten me on whats goin on with it???

I want to buy a PSP but i want one where i can play games from the memory card. if i bought one from say Game or HMV can i downgrade the firmware for it? if not where woudl you reccomend to buy one from?

things have changed quite a bit now...

For those unsure, ANY psp can be done now, just grab the UPMS .... Emerald installer follow the link in tutorials for a Full Install, to make your Magic Memory Stick and Pandoras Battery.

Then use you Pandoras Battery and Magic Memory Stick to get the PSP into service mode and use the Cemetary Installer to upgrade instantly to 3.71-m33 (once loaded press X), then grab the latest Dark Alex firmware update/s Here .... and the 380 firmware from Here .... rename the Eboot.pbp file to 380.pbp put that file into the Update folder that comes with the 3.80-m33-5 update folder and run the upate in the main PSP menu.

First time round that should take around 30 mins, the first 20 mins will be waiting for the Magic Memory Stick to be compiled ....after that it should take no more than 5 mins to update/upgrade your firmware on either a virgin or modded PSP!

Once done format any new memory stick you put in your PSP and simply drag n drop you iso's to the iso folder in the root of the memory stick, then run them via the main menu!

You can also disable the UMD drive completely by holding down the RIGHT trigger button whilst starting the PSP up then go > configuration > UMD Mode, and then toggle the options available.

at the moment we have the nintendo ds, all i have to do is click on game to download, extract the Rar file and drag it onto a memory card and job done..is the psp just as simple ?

I havent been too clued up recently so dont know if its changed much but dont think so as far as I know.

Any current PSP can be downgraded using Pandora etc...

There are some sites to download the ISO's.

And yes its pretty much the same as the DS - drag and drop into the game / iso folder on the memory stick.
