Retro gaming comp

hxbro 12.11.2004, 19:47
I stole this idea from thedvdforums but, anyone up for a competion to see who get can the highest score on an old game ?

Challenge

Get the highest score using 1 credit, 3 lives and default difficulty on DoDonPachi arcade game.

You can either use the actual arcade or scores obtained by emulation will be allowed.

Rules

1. One 'Score' Post per person only. Once you've posted a score if you beat that either update your old post (leaving your old score there as well for reference) or delete that post and post your new score

2. Emulation (on any platform) of the game is allowed

3. Photographic (or movie) proof must be provided with your top score. No PC screenshots as these are too easy to doctor.

4. No cheats/action replay codes etc will be used. However game exploits can be used.

5. The Winner can pick next months competition challenge. They may pick any game on any non current system (ie no Gamecube/PS2/Xbox) challenges. However if the game can be emulated you increase the number of people who can take part in the challenge.

6. The person posting the challenge can take part themselves.

7. If you need to emulate to take part is this competition - DO NOT ASK WHERE TO GET ROMS!

8. After the competiton finishes people may post suggestions as to what the next challenge is, however the decision is left to the winner. When they've decided they will copy and paste this rules into the new thread.

9. This is a challenge to see who can get the best score/time on a game. It's all about sportsmanship. Keep it fair!

10. This thread is a bit of fun however people can donate prizes to the winner should they wish to.

Closing Date - Saturday 20th November @ 5:00pm

Anyone interested, the game above is the one currently running on thedvdforums we can pick a different game if needed, the thread there also has a prize of a dvd
