You seem to have had a few 3G's like this ?

I had a simillar problem and got a friend to take a look at it on another computer. Apparently iy updated via iTunes without a problem.

Maybe it is a problem with your PC/operating system ?

A quick update on this. It has finally been updated through iTunes. A friend of mine is on a different operating system to me so had a go at updating it.

So it is all up n running again now so thanks for all the help .

I have had the Wildfire and now have the Desire and there really is no comparison. The Desire beats it hands down in all ways.

SOunds like you need to reinstall itunes or try on another computer, its not detecting the phone correctly

Hi, yes it is def a 3GS, it is/was on iOS 4.1 (8B117) with baseband 05.14.02.

If you have done DFU mode correctly then you should get a blank screen after the Apple logo.

You can first of all try using TinyUmbrella - connect your phone and if it can see it, select it and then click Exit Recovery Mode.

So in itunes when the phone is plugged in it doesn't show you an option to restore. How did you try to upgrade your iphone did you just plug it in and click update?

The PC recognises the phone but iTunes wont, and wont let me upgrade or restore a backup ?

I attempted to update my iPhone 3GS last night using iTunes.

Everything went well up to the part where iTunes said "Preparing iPhone etc etc" but then came up with some sort of error.

Now when I attempt to turn the handset on it just comes up with the screen ...

I wouldnt advise you post your IMEI number as there are some very dodgy people out there who may have a use for it.

I took it to the market and the usual fella's said it should be, but they do not have the software for it yet. I'm not sure if this means it's not available

nokia c3 on voda can be done for about ?8 done a few with codes bought from phonefunshop.co.uk but takes a couple of days to get the code ...
